Remote – Fulltime Position
Multiple locations across Australia. 

Welcome to an exciting opportunity with Insight PBS as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at the core level. If you have a desire to support individuals in the National Disability Insurance Scheme, and you enjoy working in a positive and supportive setting, this position may be your perfect match .

Job Description

In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team and provide Positive Behaviour Support services to individuals with a range of disabilities or mental health needs. You will focus on enhancing quality of life, reducing behaviours of concern, and promoting the rights of participants. You will work closely with a Team Leader, who will coach you and monitor your progress, ensuring you can develop and grow in your daily practice. You will be assigned less complex clients to begin with, and will use evidence based strategies to address their support needs .

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

    • Complete functional and risk assessments to understand the underlying causes of behaviours

    • Develop and implement strategies and interventions to improve quality of life for participants

    • Collect and use data to review and refine interventions as needed

    • Work alongside families, carers, support workers and other stakeholders to ensure strategies in Behaviour Support Plans are effective

    • Provide training and guidance to key stakeholders in implementing interventions

    • Promote ethical, quality focused, and person centred support

    • Adhere to all relevant legislative, moral and organisational guidelines, including policies on restrictive practices

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant qualification or experience in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or another NDIS recognised field

  • Understanding of key behaviour support approaches, assessments, and data analysis

  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, with willingness to participate in supervision

  • Sound computer literacy

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A genuine interest in making a positive difference for individuals with disabilities
